It appears that the Hardie plank is done, at least as viewed from the south. It also appears that the open area at the back of the boathouse is now covered.

Mar 27 – Upper Floor Hardie Plank almost done
Mar 24 – Hardie Plank Installation continues
Mar 19 – Drywall, Hardie plank and deck surface
Lots of activity going on, The drywall people have boarded all of the upper floor and several of the lower bedrooms. They will be mudding for next week or so. Then the painter will need to do the undercoat and first coat of finish paint. This is a slight delay from what our builder had expected so we pushed floor installation back to the week after Easter.
Our builder’s crew have been installing the Hardie plank on the north and west side of the building. We decided to add a belly band to breakup the Hardie plank. The belly band will be painted the same colour as the trim.
The deck people worked the weekend installing the deck surface.
We met with a railing supplier on Saturday and will be getting a quote for our railings on Monday.
Mar 13 – Insulation completing and drywall starting
Mar 9 – Electrical Rough-in done and Insulation started
All power, data, cable and telephone wires are in. The insulation people are on-site making the place all pink and warm. The heaters are on and the inside is already feeling much more comfy.
The excavating company was in moving material and back filling the area around the pump room. Our contractor is working out how to frame the pump room so it supports the deck above it. The structural engineer left that detail to the builder.
The Hardie plank siding has been order and delivery is planned for early next week.
Mar 2 – Stairs built and Pump room concrete poured
Our builder’s crew continued to work on the outside of the building. The stairs leading from the side deck to the yard were put in place. Inside, the electricians have started doing the rough-in wiring. They expect to be finished by Tuesday afternoon.
The weather finally warmed up enough to pour the footings and foundation for the pump room. However, the structural engineer is still requiring that the forms be covered with tarps and heaters run.
We received quotes from two companies to do stucco on the exterior walls up to the top of the first floor. The quotes were much higher than expected and it appears that it will be cheaper to use Hardie board as we had originally planned.
Feb 28 – Fascia and post cladding installed
Today our builder’s crew put up the fascia boards in preparation for the start of roofing. They also covered the deck roof posts with the smart board that we painted last week.
There has been a large percentage of the soffits installed including under the deck roof,
We ordered our flooring and paid some of the deposit. The floor installation is tentatively set for second week of April.
